Hey guys, I finished most of the motor job on my 327/365hp. I just wanted to make sure I followed the procedure correctly for setting these cold. I followed it exactly, I'm sure the firing order(1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2) is correct, but I look in the AIM and they have the firing order (1,8,4,6,3,5,7,2). Can someone tell me why this is.....just curious here.

18436572 is Correct.

Cam timing and firing order is 18436572. It`s only material when the plug wires are installed. Adjusting the valve lash can be accomplished very easily by individual cylinders working from the front to the back cylinders merely by watching the rocker arms on each cylinder. As the exhaust valve starts to open, adjust the intake, and as the intake closes adjust the exhaust. This proceedure places the valve your adjusting on the heel of the lobe allowing correct adjustment. Works every time spark plugs in or out. Just make sure to pull the coil wire if your using the starter to bump the engine over. No accidental starts with the oil splashing all over. :D
