Is it possible to put a 6-speed shifter on backwards? I have no reverse lockout on my 94. After taking apart the console and looking at the shifter it appears to be on backwards compared to what the manual shows. The "lockout bar"? at the base of the shifter isn't hitting the metal piece that prevents it from going to the right because of this position. It appears that if it was turned 180 degrees that it would work perfectly So is it possible to remove the shifter thru the console area without dropping the tranny out? If so how? Any ideas?
