I just moved into the 21st century of the Corvette world and didn't make it home with my new prize. I purchased a 2004 Convertible. Stopped to eat on the way home. I cranked the car, pulled the shifter into reverse and it had tension and clicked but made a pop sound also. Had no reverse or forward gears. Cable broke? Got the car home by getting underneath and putting in gear with lever on the transmission. I have searched the site and not found anything addressing this problem. I have not tore into it yet and thought I might get some insight into the problem. Everything is connected and looks normal at the transmission. Next step is to remove the console I assume. Thanks for any possible help.
