Shifter change?

If switch over to an overdrive trans, is it necessary to get a modified shifter? I see them for sale, but you have to get one. Thanks.

Wow, thats a nice looking car. Wish I could comment on the shifter for you. I have an overdrive trans in mine. 700 r4. The shifter will go from D 3 2 1. Probably can use the same one. Call up a reputable trans shop and ask them.
