can anyone tell me what is the secret to removing the shifter knob patteren button and shifterknob on my 1992 coupe with a 6 speed transmission. i have a new one for it as the old one has the leather worn off of it. thank you

Use a small screwdriver and pry the top off where the shift diagram is that piece will come up.
Use needle nose pliers and pull out the wedge and then the knob will come off.

Glad I could be a help. I replaced my knob a couple years ago it was getting tiny lines that showed in the leather and since I'm anal about keeping everything like new I replaced it.
