shifter lock question

I was wondering if any of you have seen a shifter lock on a vette the one on my car locks the shifter button and uses a key something like what a vending machine has .... is this possibly a option or more likely aftermarket .... also when I turned my car into a convertible where the back of the t-tops latch down there was a weird looking pin type switch it the latch catches have any of you seen anything like this on your vettes, is it possible this was a factory theft deterrant system, the wires were part of my roof wiring harness so it didnt even look remotely aftermarket
