Oh yeah, can't forget about the improved Opti unit they used as opposed to the earlier LT1's. :upthumbs

At the risk of souding redundant I say: GO FOR IT!!! I have had three C4's and I put a lot of miles on all of them. Also meticulously maintained them. If he has complete service records, then you are in! Looking at the records will give you an idea of what things to be aware of. I think this is a sweet deal. I bought my C4's all new. Paid a lot in depreciation. And in repairing your car, you can actually plan for that.
Good Luck!
Save the wave!

I would say go for it. My 87 Coupe now has over 126K miles. The previous owner did not do much in the maintenance department. I use synthetic oil every 3K miles. It is my daily driver. As for expensive parts, some are cheap, like starters (Western Auto), alternator (Pep Boys), brake disks (Pep Boys), pads (OEM are about $70 per set), master cylinder ($135). Other parts are way too expensive, like interior trim, weatherstripping, steering wheeels. etc.

Up untill last year, my '87 was my daily driver with 144,000 miles.
I'm the original owner and took care to maintain and replace components (sometimes pro-actively) as necessary.
Don't sweat the miles...enjoy. It sounds like "good mileage" to me.
144,000 in New York is like 500,000 elsewhere that just goes to show that Corvettes were made to be driven, Mine had 62,000 on it when I bought it in 1999 and has over 90,000 on it now mostly local driving, sounds like a good deal.
Learn how to work on it and get double the enjoyment;LOL

Ken has the line on local Vette clubs, right KEN?

I have heard good things about J&D Corvette in Bellflower and Leonhardt Automotive, but Gary may not take new customers. I cannot endorse any dealer, Corvette Mike or Coast Corvette.

Go for it!

You will never smile so much!!!!

I would buy it. Might be a blessing if the motor grenades. Then, you could put the motor YOU would like to have in it. That's my plan...keep it till it needs major work, then start the heavy duty mods. Just another thought...

When I bought my 85, it had 172,000 km on it. That's about 103,000 miles.

No regrets at all, took some normal wear and tear repair, otherwise the car is excellent!! Besides, half the fun of a 'vette is working on it ... ;) .

It's not unusual nowadays to find a well-maintained vehicle that'll last 200,000 or more without major problems or rebuilds. Ya gotta take care of 'em though. ;)

Totally Agree with the posts on this topic. Knowing the history of the car is a significant upside in making the purchase. You can't go wrong.
