What do you think guys?
What would it say / show & how large? What are the costs? Thanks :w

How about revisting this topic? perhaps this coming weekend when we're all together?

This is a super idea - It will be proposed in the meeting we will have on Sat.

Thank you Josh for bringing this up - Seeing how the Aero image is on the dash plaque, that may be a natural to incorporate into the brick.

I think a big brick is close to two grand - it would be amazing to do something like that! :beer

The Grand Sport Registry had a brick placed in the courtyard to the entrance to the NCM back in May 2005. $2500 was the cost.............................

************* UPDATE *******************

At the meeting of the COG on Sat., it was put out there if we wanted to do a brick (large) or a bench. The bench was the one that got the nod. :cool

To get an entire bench, it costs $5,000. Reeves Callaway has offered to match our funds and with the pledges at the meeting, we are already to $3k

Reeves has also asked if he could suggest withthe NCM, possibly an alternate entrance feature, one that is fitting and suitable to excite, and whoa the Corvette world :upthumbs

That said, we will move forward, with all final ideas to be presented this summer.

To those who pledged their support, I would like to offer personal thanks. The NCM is also impressed with our group, and our level of enthusiasum as demonstrated over the past weekend :cool

If you would like to support this idea, please drop an email for more details :w

That is great that Reeves will work with the NCM for something unique and exciting. A glass speedster would knock your socks off at the front door ;)

The new/old entrance definitely needs some wow factor added!

FANTASTIC DRAWING!.....

I really thought we would have had our act together ealier on this...

As a mater of fact, over the summer I made a limited run of (12) 3' x 5' - 20 Years of Callaway Corvettes (an evolution poster on good quality photograph paper) to give away to anyone who would double up (to $200) in hopes that we would be able to raise a decent amount for Reeves to match. In addition to help raise more for him to match, it would also give us (the contributors) something to have in memory since the Museum is far away for most members to visit regularly.

I spent my $$ and time in making these. The 20th Anniversary is almost over.

Anyone still interested??

If not I want my posters back!:bash

The posters that Luigi made and generously offered for the terms stated above, ARE AWESOME POSTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is now the #1 priority for the group now that the shows have concluded - I have to say that the shows and all the efforts for each took a great deal of energy on many levels and from many people - With the success of that behind us, let's get this done! :upthumbs

Look for some addl. details on this in the coming weeks -

Thanks for EVERYONE'S Support on the idea - :beer

I must have missed something. I've thought about this a few times since it was discussed at the Museum show, but I don't remember seeing anything actually kicking off the fund raising effort.

I'm still in, and I'll double up for a cool poster. Where do I send my check?

Thats a SWEET pic! Can it can be engraved on marble or what ever the bench will be made out of...and last? Perhaps move the script out of the picture and have it run across the top of the pic instead. Just my thoughts. :beer

Surf, what would you and the rest of the bunch think of this etched into a bench, or other "monument" at the entrance area to the National Corvette Museum??? :beer

Thanks for your opinions and suggestions :w

Surf, your thoughts are spot-on :upthumbs

The idea would be to have this etched into the marble - it is a great representation of the significant Corvette projects, TT/Aero, C12, and C16 :w

Looks good but I'd like to see 1 of each model of Callaways for the picture (speedster missing, etc) since a bench is really loooonnng may someone good with art or photoshop could put each car from the C projects there plus a speester, etc for the full bench effect? Thoughts?

Plug getting Reeves to sign the bench in the etching would be very cool

Looks good to me .

Good deal :beer

Good ideas! :cool We'll see about implementing all of them! :beer
