What do you use to detail the Wheel Wells?
Mine are clean, but I would like to maintain a total Black look without losing points at a car show inspection.
if they are clean, you can put on a silicon tire shine... like eagle 1 wet. spray it on, let it soak in (the longer the better), then wash it off. after you wash it off, it should look very black with a nice sheen to it (basically factory new looking). others may have a better way, but that is the best method i have found.
My local body shop which also does show cars recommended to apply clear Armstrong floor wax, to the wheel wells.
I just finished an hour ago, and they look better than new.
Had mine up on the lift yesterday. This is what the shop used. Spray on, wipe off.
Looks pretty good!
Before that, I have used STP foaming tire cleaner to get the tons of road grime out around the wheels and under the hood. Just gotta wipe before it all runs and stains your driveway/garage.
Has anyone used mothers back to black. I use it for trim pieces and the belt line on my car. It works well on the front spoiler. I have not used it on the wheel wells though.
i used back to black on my wheel wells up front and they look great.
havent got the car back from the painters yet so dont know how the
back will turn out they are really grungy. but think it will do a good job
will post after i get em done. car is suppose to be ready for pick up
next wed.
I used Mothers Back to black on the seat backs on my car and it worked wonderful. I also used it on the belt line, however i had to be very careful because it smears on the painted surfaces. Other surfaces i used it on was the window trim because the black paint faded, and also on the weather stripping just once.
