I want to get some. I love the look. I was wondering what length should I get. There are two one ebay. I found a set in Summit as well as Jegs. They go from 57-72 inches. I was also wondering where the measurements start and end. I can see that 60 may be too long.
I was hoping I could get alittle advice.
Thanks Chris

Go to the Hooker website and get the ones for your Vette.

Side Pipes

I've got to agree, I think Hooker makes a superior product (I've got Super-Comps on mine), and from what I saw when I was considering a set, the Hookers are the way to go. My car currently has 3" pipes all the way out (with an "X" pipe) and it sounds BRUTAL, so I can't imagine how good it would sound with open side pipes. The thought makes me consider......The only reason I decided against them was because I a) didn't want to leave the gaping holes in the rear of my car, and b) I didn't want to fill the holes with patch panels.

I believe the length question is a matter of taste, and my taste tends to go towards the longer, thereby allowing the tip to be as near the front of the wheel arch as possible. I've seen shorter versions and the gap left between the outlet and the wheel well just doesn't appeal to me.

This is all IMHO.

I have the hooker side pipes 4" dia. and they are definitely the way to go, order them for the corvette and they are the exact length of the side, they dump out right in fron of the rear wheels, plus there is minimum modification required

Get the powdercaoted ones or you will be painting them every year ;)

I have been considering putting sidepipes on in the hopefully near future. Seems like the Hooker set is the best way to go. I know the chrome on the headers will dis-color, but will the side pipes on back also dis-color?

Thanks,
Matt

we all ran "cannons" back in the ole days...huh?..whad ya say?

because they're so hot, chrome or paint both get stained by road gunk...chromes could be sorta saved by using smotormickle stuff called 'simi-chrome polish'...hi-temp paint needs scuff with 400 sandpaper and repaint...either way its a weekly battle

company called 'o.k. custom' made the 'factory' ones (there is a gm p/n for big & small blocks)...they fit much better than 'aftermarket'...dont know if they're still alive...some 'trimming' req-d...keep fluid in windshield washer res or it melts

If you get the hookers... dont waste your $$ on their mufflers... get the spiral turbo baffles instead (do a google search)

Trust me!

I guess everyone is going with hooker. I'll have to look into it and do my research. I'll just have to save alittle more.
Thanks fellas

Just jumped on the Jet Hot site. Shot them a quick email. I want to have them in place by next summer...

Nice vett's guy's

I have a question for anybody that has put a set of side mount headers on a C3. How difficult are they to install? I was looking at my engine compartment, and it appears it could be a tight fit on the driver's side. I would just like to be prepared for when I eventually begin this process.

Thanks,
Matt

How much do the sidemount Hookers cost? Kinda thumbed thru the Jet Hot pages. Didn't get around to calling about the pricing. I'm looking for BB application...

I don't recall how much I paid for mine.... but I got them from Barnett Performance. I shopped around and they were the cheapest. Free shipping.

Welcome to CAC Flatout 427 good to see another NW Ohio member, I also put my small blocks in from the bottom just get it up ggod and high and its no problem.

sidepipes installation

I have got a 76 eckler widebody car with a 406/4speed.I installed a set of hooker jet hot coated sidepipes with baffels. They went in easy from under the car. They fit great with no problems. Go for it.
