Sidepipes

Mine has had Hooker chrome sidepipes since the mid 70's. The chrome has held up well, and they actually don't get too hot. On occasion, you'll have to break out the polish, and remove road debris, and give them a little shining. Overall, after 30 years, they still look very good.

how is the ground clearance with the hooker side pipes? do you scrape when you go in and out of your driveway or over speed bumps

Those are not Hookers but look more like these

Gotta Bossvette,
I know what the hookers look like. I initially started this thread wondering whether or not anyone had the ebay pipes or not. I'm positive I'll get the Hookers I just have to save up some money. They are pricey....
I wasn't sure whether or not I liked the hooker look but I think it looks better and more traditional than the singlepipe out of the side.
Just looking for the best deal now..

keep checking on Ebay those hookers appear from time to time and mine will be going sometime next year. The next set will be done with the 68 style fiberglass covers and chambered pipes I weld up myself on the cheap.
I'm not satisfied with the placement of the O2 sensor so far downstream on mine for the EFI

Good looking out on the your headers. I have a big block set. I got a quote from Jet Hott. I think is was somewhere around $1250. I'll end up saving up.

Buy the painted ones and get them coated after you fit them to the car, the big block headers for some reason need a little "nudgeing" to fit and every car is a little different. The small block set doesnt have this problem, right Dave;)

A little?? If you define a 100 megaton nuclear device as little, then yes.. the BB ones need a little nudge! :W

Never heard of an issue on small blocks. Dave

Call Barnett Performance in Atlanta... www.barnettperformance.com

or 800-533-1320

I got mine there... they were the cheapest by about 10% plus free ground shipping.

Gonna give Barnett a call tommorrow. I hope I won't have a major problems being that I don't have a factory big block car. The only major mod is my a/c compressor mount. The rest should look about the same.

I've never scraped on anything at all. I'm very happy with them. Typically, I'm not a big fan of headers, due to scraping, leaks, heat, etc., but these ones are really great. I'm very impressed. You just have to make sure if you have kids getting in the car, they don't use them as steps to get in. My little ones, 4 and 5, have been trained to stay away from the pipes when they get in or out.
