The following highlights come from an article by Roy Sinor in the Winter 2003 issue of the Corvette Restorer regarding some upcoming changes to the NCRS Judging System:

  • Bowtie Judging System: The age factor will change but not its use or calculation. The total number of points that can be added to the raw score will be restricted.
  • Flight Judging System: Addition of a body fiberglass standard deduction in all classes. As cited in the Technical Information Manual and Judging Guides / Judging Reference Manual: "The presence of any custom body modifications shall necessitate a full deduct of the body fiberglass originality and condition point."
  • Flight Judging System: The addition of a standard paint deduction in all classes. The following statement will also be included in the Technical Information Manual and Judging Guides / Judging Reference Manual: "The presence of any custom paint modifications shall necessitate a full deduct of the body paint originality and condition points."
  • Flight Judging System: Addition of a signature block on the Scoring Summary Sheet and the Judging Summary Sheet for the team leader to verify trim tag authenticity.
