Hi! As I update/find new products for my recently acquired '89 6-spd., I want to let you know about things that work and things that don't. One thing that really works great are the Sylvannia Silver Star headlights. Sylvannia bills these as the brightest/whitest sealed Halogen's around, and close to HID lights. I bought a pair at Pep Boys ($20 each, on special), and they are terrific---I noticed a huge difference from the sealed Halogens the car came with, and sealed Halogens I have bought myself previously. The light is, in fact, much brighter and whiter. Also, they don't seem to draw any more current, which is good, as I have been told that the Hellas do. Anyway, these are Pep Boys items, 100% legal, and terrific. Don't fuss with dealing with specialty dealers' attitudes, prices or the complexities of their products.

Secondly, I replaced the shocks with the T.P.I.S. specially valved ones. You can get these from Mid-America and Corvette Central (got mine from Mid-America). Again, these are superb, and cheap to boot (about $130 a set).

Third, all the catalogs (Mid-America, Corvette Central, Eckler's etc.) sell a seven bottle set of leather refinishing products (includes dye in your car's color code). Again, this stuff works great, especially the dye in my car's black (I can only assume the other colors are as good), although you need to be careful with the clear coat.

If anyone is interested in more details, then let me know.

Thanks.
I have decided to use the Silver Stars myself. I just need to get around to it. One of theses days.....

Big thumbs up with Silverstars. Sealed beam ready to rock in 15 minutes. Try some halogen turn and backup lights instad of the stock. They are 6 or 7 bucks each, and you need 6, but when you turn the blinker on it's freaky bright and lit up.

Have had silverstars for a year . they are great.Much better than stock

Now switch to the diamond cut lenses, ditch the heavy sealed beams and you're all set. I just put a set on silverstars on my vette and my son's cavalier. Much better then the aftermarket halogen bulbs.
