Hi Everyone,

If my car ends up parked in the full summer sun, my windows fog up and windex doesn't do a good job getting the windows clean. In fact, I can't seem to get enough windex on to clean the fog and then be able to get the rest of the windex off. Unless I run the A/C the windows fog up and streak.

Are there any glass cleaners that REALLY do not streak?

Thanks,

J

Seems like you have a problem with your heater core leaking if the windows are fogging up...or a clogged drain hole. The product to usew to clean the glass is

Invisible Glass

Auto Zone or PepBoys carries it

Great! Thanks. I don't think I have a leak as I never have fluid level issues. I think it is "plasticizer film". I saw this referenced in the ad that you sent me and the Hib Halverson's CAC article on the new C6.

I had a problem similar to what you have described after I bought my '86. I believe the problem was coming from the Armor All the previous owner had used to detail the interior with before he put it up for sale. I really don't like that stuff.

I have had this problem before on other cars, even other brands, it has nothing to do with the heater core or armor all. The plastics in modern car interiors, when parked in the full sun, tend to "evaporate" and leave this unpleasant film on the glass. This is most noticeable in older cars, maybe the plastic breaks down at an accelerated rate or something. Auto detailers know all about this phenomenon.

As it turns out my son had some of the Invisible Glass that you told me about. It works great. I have no fog issues now and no streaks. Thanks!

That stuff is great. My rear window had tint on it when I got it. The tint started peeling so I proceeded to peel it all off. Left a nasty film. Invisible Glass and elbow grease and I have a clean, clear, rear window.
