I am always looking for ways to uprate the brakes without re-engineering the brake system, and was wondering whether anyone has any experience with the slotted brake rotors advertised by various Corvette suppliers. The claim is that these rotors displace gases generated by the pads that cause pads to "float" slightly and thus help you stop better, but........... Basically, I judge brake effectiveness by how well they stop you in an emergency heading down the freeway, not on a racetrack. So, the fact that brake pads and rotor designs might work better if warmed-up on a track, etc. I find pretty meaningless (and harmful) if you're looking for products which work best in the real world.
