smog pump question

i just removed the smog pump and all related miles of hoses and wires. that was the easy part. now i need help in getting the computer of my ass. what am i supposed to do now to fool the computer? i did the eliminator pully thing and really cleaned up the area. but now the check engine light. i just got thru putting on the super ram , 58mm tb and 36 pound injectors. now the car is running rich rich as hell and after about 10 minutes at idle around 700rpm the motor will shoot up to 3000rpm at idle and stay there. stop for about 30 minutes same thing 700 then 3k. a few months back i stroked it to a 383, bigger cam, ram air, long tube headers. ran fine, idle perfect ( lumpy ), borlas , gutted cat, some kind of after market chip not sure what in the car when i bought it. now this idle prob. i want to eliminate the smog pump first. how can i do this? thanks for your help.. the car is a `90

I have on a pdf file a complete explanation of the Air Injection System and it's functions and what the ECM monitors from it in order for the engine to run right. After reading this I can olnly come up with two options you may have:
1) Put the pump back on and live with it
2) Take the ECM out of the car because it cannot funtion correctly without it. I think the engineers designed the ECM and Emission System to work as one in order to prevent someone doing exaclty what you did. There is probably someone somewhere that has done this but I would think it would take a total re-program of the chip and a different flow chart for the ECM in order for it to work.

This is for an '89 but I would think the '90 would be similar. If you would like this .pdf file I need a private e-mail cuses it's too large for this forum. Good luck with this and let us know what you find out. Would be interesting to see if this could be done.
