Just tried out the POR 15 and the Boss Gloss. Both are really first class. Just ordered some Black gloss Engine Enamel and Black Velvet Header Paint. So far, these products outperform everything else i have tried and i have spent alot of money on various leading brands. If youre not aware...POR has a catalogue (www.por15.com) with quite a few different products for the auto/home. Im looking forward to applying the left over POR 15 to the exhaust system from the collectors on back . I cant believe the hardness and the shine .

Thanks for the info...I am just learning about POR 15. I intend to use it on my frame and other components. Also thanks for the link!

I agree......a wonderful product.

Here's what my frame looked like after sand-blasting, then brushing on Metal-Ready, then vacuuming off residue, then brushing on two coats of POR15 Gloss Black, then spraying on one coat of Tremclad Gloss Black (for UV protection).

I'm happy with it........and it's very hard.

I am very pleased with the results too. I used it on my roll bar, applied with a brush, and it dried with the bar looking powdercoated. Very nice stuff; I'll get some pictures up in "My Engine Project" thread soon. :cool

The frame looks great 67heaven!

One question though - UV protection for your frame?

Culprit

67heaven

I'm planning to do the same to my frame in a few weeks. just need to finish wire wheeling the underside of the frame and then it will be time......

which method is best...... brushing or spraying......
is any one any better...and how did you get in those hard to reach tight angles and channels......

what did you have to do to spray in your garage?? And what did you use? what gun, PSI...etc....
im doing mine in my garage too, and don't really want to get spray all over the place......

just pre-planning...that's all.
Dave

by the way, it came out sweet.......
nice pics.
:cool

Make sure you use the proper respirator when spraying or the inside of you will look like that as well. Get it on your hands and try to get it off. Imagine that in your lungs. Warnings and instructions are on their site.

Another related question:

How did you flip your frame over to work on the bottom side?

Bill

70 VETTE 454,
I brushed it on. It is amazing to work with using a brush. You won't believe the coverage!!! Even though it looked great with one, I did two coats.

The areas inside the rails that were hard to get to.....I sprayed Tremclad in there.

Matchframe,
It's easy for two people to flip the frame over.

A buddy of mine is doing his (gasp) Mustang in POR 15. I've actually seen him beat his oil pan with a hammer and screwdriver to the point that he needs another one without damaging the paint. Moral of the story...don't bother trying to damage it, you'll have to buy new parts first.
