How do you go about Hardwiring a radar detector. Details, pictures, etc.

I'd like to get my 2 cents in before the sermons start.

The V1 works! The arrows are great. Nobody can protect against instant-on radar, except that the smokies that have it like to hang back behind a line of cars and pulse the on-coming traffic. This behavior causes the V1 to signal seriously and then go silent. Live and learn.

Cords. My Chevy dealer gave me a price of $130 to hardwire my V1 in its mirror mount. They just used the accessory power outlets on the firewall in front of the passenger (check your owner's manual for a description), and ran the wire alongside the power for the convience lights in the mirror.

Radar Detector Mount For Rearview Mirror

Do you have anymore information on the radar detector mount that works off the rear view mirror bracket from Ecklers. I have looked at their web site and can't remember seeing anything like this; I will look again also. Sounds like exactly what I might be looking for. Thanks for the info if you have anymore it would be appreciated very much.

Thanks again,

I've had a Solo S2 since Christmas of last year. It's works fine and is very good about filtering the annoying signals like when you drive by a shopping mall. I bought the "Radar detector mounting bracket" from Ecklers. It is a treaded rod that replaces the mounting screw for the mirror and allows the detector to sit right under the mirror. You just have to modify the windshield mounting bracket that comes with the detector. They have a different P/N for 1997-00, 2001-04, and one for 1997-2004 Valentine detectors. The cost is $23.99 and $31.00 for the Valentine mount. It's a very nice setup and you can hardly see the detector from the front of the car. I bought an extra windshied mount from Escort so I could use the detector in the other vehicles (about $4.00). I'm very pleased with the S2.
