LT4 Some new pics of my LT4...

1996 LT4 Topic
You got it looking real good Jeff. Just watch the driveway approaches, speed humps and certain storm drains. My vette is lowered as well. The rear looks about like yours, maybe an inch clearance. My front seems to sit about a half inch higher by the pics you took. By the way, are you a member of any of the local corvette clubs? I'm out in the far east valley. The only one I'm associated with at the time is ACE.

Jeff, that is one "BadLt4":beer Now I'm wondering what mine would look like with lowered with those wheels:w Do you have a thread on what how you lowered it?

I dont know what method Jeff used to lower his C4 but there are a few options. The cheapest by far is to use lowering wedges on the front springs and longer spring bolts for the rear. Under a $100. VBP sells these and you get a 10% discount for mentioning you are a member of the corvette action center.
I used a complete sport suspension package which VBP also sells. But its considerably more expensive and requires more time to install. It replaces springs frt & rear. New bilstein shocks, poly bushing kit, new rear camber rods, and a much stiffer sway bar in the front only. I did mine myself, over the course of 3-4 days. There are other options as well, coil over suspension conversion along with adjustable shocks. I'm very pleased with the new ride and cornering that I gained from using the sport spring package, and would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade from the soft ride system that many C4's had originally come equipped with.

Jeff I live in Glendale and have a 96 collector edition, who does your detailing ? Also nice car

Jeff, in MY humble opinion you've achieved that elusive quality of beautifully original-looking but with the understated custom touch. VERY, very nice.

Naturally, I LOVE a black Corvette.;)

Much thanks!! :beer

The way she looks now, I kinda look at my car as something they could have done as a Special Edition Model. You know, like the "Stealth" edition for '96 or something. I like to keep the car looking generation specific (but yet you look at the car and go, "there's just something different that makes me like that C4 more than most...but I can't put my finger on it - ie: the lowering, fender vent grills etc..) so I really appreciate your assessment, as that's exactly what I'm striving for.

Jeff: Can you do a write up on what you did to lower yours? I have a 94, Black, and really love the stance you have going on....well done!!!

Nice Mods

Great looking car and it sounds like it should be a real performer as well. I am looking at lowering as well but you covered that pretty well so my second question is a bit weaker and maybe more vain but you ECM looks painted or powder coated. Looks way better than stock. What up with that? I just did an edit to this reply as I noticed a photo from 02/07/08 had the black satin or semi gloss paint on the ECM then noticed the photo from 04/07/10 has what looks like OEM stock cast aluminum housing?

Cheers,
:beer
