Just had to tell y'all this...
A YEAR ago, I bought one of those 97-04 Cargo Carriers cause, well..., I just like the look of the thing. Keep in mind I have a 93 Vette. Oh boy...
So, it laid around in the house all that time while I put off dealing with just how I was gonna install it in my 93 without tearing something up.
[Inspite of what I wrote earlier regarding the Vette going into the shop for the re-do work<<<< that ain't happened yet.] I bit the bullet. It's warm during the daytime here, so I pulled the Vette out, popped the hatch and crammed myself back there armed with an awl, a scewdriver and a prayer. [First off, that Vecro junk is just plain useless.]
So I checked the length of the screws that came with the cargo carrier. Ummmm..., too long. So off to WallyWorld I went and found shorter replacements.
I installed the cargo carrier about an inch and a half under the cargo shade. (Yes, I poked holes through the carpeting back there for the screws, but the carrier hides that.) It looks pretty good.
My advice...
If you're thinking about doing this, mark where your screw holes will go and have a kid do the installation---a small kid that's good with their hands. You really don't have any idea how small that rear space is until you try and cram yourself back there. A few times I contorted myself back there like a Cirque de Soleil act--straining and hurting-I just had to stop and laugh at myself.
