Sound Deadening Material

I was playing around on Mid America's site, and found some GSport Sound Deadening material... has everybody tried this stuff before? Is it worth it (only $30/roll) or is there something that works better?

How much per square foot? The C-4 is said to need 50.

I am about to start this with FatMat, from e-bay after first checking the odor as recommended by another member. YThis came with a small roller and cleaner/degreaser, which is probably TSP.

This product is about $1/sq.ft., while others run over $2.

Looks like it's pretty expensive, though it sounds (no pun intended) like it should work really well...

Sounds like the typical 'boilerplate' for these products. I checked the acoustic dampening factors at the published tempreatures, compared to cost, to make my purchase decision.

I have the first part of the first roll laid out, for the smell test. So far, it passes

There is very little odor to the FatMat. I have the passenger seat out and all the rear stuff, including the rear latch assy., the hatch storage holder and both rear speakers. I had installed a seat belt back there, and am glad to have it gone. I even found some decent plugs in my personal hardware store, to fill the holes. Digital pics were taken.

There are now three layers of FatMat on the rear floor and two elsewhere in the rear. The rear interior is being reassembled; now to pull the driver's seat and all the front carpet.
