first you need to make sure it's the water pump.
Take off the fan belts that go around the water pump then spin the pully, (see how it feels, smooth, noisy, etc.). Grap the end of a fan blade and see if you can move it back and forth towards the engine. This will show if the bearing is bad, if you can move it at all it's bad. Look to see if the pump has been leaking at all. There is usually a trace of coolant coming from the small hole in the bottom (under the pully), of the pump.
The big headache is working around the hood and rad. (put some covers on your fenders). You will need to get under the front of the car as well.
1. Drain the coolant
2. remove the fan, belts, and hoses
3. 4 bolts from the front (one or two may be longer that the others so remember where they go)
4. clean surfaces
5. install new pump using sealant on the gaskets
6. install hoses, fan, coolant, etc.
7. after all is said and done, start the engine without the rad cap, warm the engine (check for leaks), keep a eye on the coolant level because it will go down once the thermastat opens, top of the rad and put the cap on and you are off.......cheere...o
