Spare tire housing

Could anyone tell me what to use on my 75 spare tire housing to refinish it? It's in good condition, just needs a refinishing to make it look nice and get rid of the years of weathering. Looks like it has some sort of undercoating spray on it.

I used laquer thinner to clean the old paint and undercosat off of mine. I repainted the straps and masked the rivet heads. THen I used a spray wax like Maguires to give the fiberglass a nice sheen.
