speedo cables

I installed two new speedo cables . Im getting needle bounce pretty much in all speeds. Any suggestions ! Thanks

Did you replace both upper and lower cables? my 1980 has two..

Check the drive gear in the trans for wear.

Yes I replaced upper and lower The upper one was longer than original.I suspect this may be a problem because I had to bend it to get it on , the old one went straight in.
