I,ve searched the threads and can't find anything about the speedo guage making a "chattering" sound (like squirrels in my dash) is this the cable needing lube or something in the guage? The needle doesn't bounce, just noisy.
Thanks, Jeff

Sounds to me like the cable needs to be lubed. My daily driver does it on cold mornings. Just replaced the cable on the Vette this past weeked, the speedo didn't work at all. I 'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's ok. I pulled the cable under the dash by the fitting that clips to the back of the speedo and the fitting came off. I thougt I had it reattached a couple of times and after only a tenth or so of a mile the cable came out of the fitting. I drove it all around my neighborhood yesterday and I think I got it licked.

Might be squirrels ! ;LOL Let us know what you find but I would go with a dry cable needing lube.

You should always replace BOTH the cable & casing together. A lube job will not fix all your problems and it's much easier doing once than twice.

NO SQUIRRELS

:D A little graphite cable lube fixed the prob( for now). 1 thing fixed,only a 1,000,000 left,LOL.
Thanks
