My speedometer quit working ,,, i checked the upper cable and connections and they looked okay... yesterday i changed the lower cable to the transmission and now the speedo jumps around. anyone have this happen and any ideas in what to do to fix this?

Was the replacement lower cable lubed or did you lube it? My speedo sometimes jumps at low speed but I know I need to lube it.

If the cables are lubed, I would check out the transducer for the cruise control. These are known to go bad and causes one of the cables to break, usually the lower one. If the transducer checks out okay then I would look into the speedo gear in the transmission.

How do you check the transducer to see if it is good or not?
