speedometer problems

driving along and my speedometer starts bouncing around varying up to 10MPH. some times the digits were moving and the bar was steady-- or vice versa. plus my overdrive would randomly kick on and off. checked the connector on the trans and its connected. Only common ground as best I can tell is the one on the side of the block. couldn't look real close due to heat but they felt tight.

my car use to do the same thing turned out to just be a bad Vehicle Speed Sensor, i got mine from autozone part # SU1010 and it works fine.

that's what I'm thinking but there are no VSS suppliers for a 1986 4+3 with a 3.07 rear end ratio. AKA stock!
Tried every major vette vendor and dealer, AZ, orielly, napa, delco.

I'm going to call A1 cardone and BWD direct tomorrow.
