Speedometer

Anyone know what would cause my speedometer needle to go BACKWARDS (speed indication decreases) when I accelerate from a roll? The speedometer will go down and then jump up when I let off the gas. (1967, 327, M20, 3.55).
Also, are there two different Masonite covers for the jack well? Mine dosen't seem to fit because of the shoulder belt buckle holders.

It's broke! The hairspring on the internal speedcup is either broken or become unattached. Not a DIY project.

There's just one jack board, for all usages; the belt pocket should be mounted high enough so the bottom of the pocket has clearance to the board.
