Speedsters: Where are they?

I believe that you should look into the archives there has been plenty about speedsters.
I have personally seen at least seven in personally and have even sat in the Sledghammer and a couple of C12's as well as a couple of other members here have done the same.

The Callaway Owners group website is the best out there. There was nothing before 2002 that is when the current Owners gathered and started the group with the BLESSING of Reeves Callaway.

I know your statements have upset some of the owners here as I have received several emails of the such.
There was a gathering of Callaways in Texas your home state and you did not even attend. Ask not what the group can do for you but what you could do for the group.

I know 89X2 works very hard at what he does and he does it all for FREE! If you only knew how much is involved in running the owners group and setting up these events. Trust me I know and Chris does it all for the Love of Callaway's.

Please do not say in any way that we have to make it the best it is already the BEST.

I think that all of us should collaberate and make the best Callaway website ever. :)

It'd be great to see 1 picture of every single Callaway Speedster produced, and I bet with enough work we could all do it for every Callaway car. I have a friend who has put a lot of effort forth into documenting the existence of every single Vector W2, W8, WX-3, and M12 and such. He hasn't finished, but with such limited edition cars, it isn't that difficult. You can see his website here, but unfortunately it is under construction since his server crashed and doesn't currently show off all of his work:

Perhaps the B2Ks are too many to try to document, but Speedsters, C8s, C9s, C7s, LMs, C12s etc would probably be quite easy. :)

I agree COMPLETELY!!! This could not have been said better. The COG is the best Callaway website for enthusiasts. Production facts, owner profiles, tech tips, for sale section, events roundups....what else could anyone want or need?

How much does it cost us? Nothing, Chris sacrifices his own time and money to do that site for us.

A few years ago this forum didn't even exist, it was the b2k guys fighting with the ZR1 guys on CF.com. Chris got the guys here at CAC to open this forum for us and then he got the COG going....the COG and CAC are all a Callaway owner needs.

:eek Whoa guys, I don't know how you've misinterpreted what I said as an insult to anyone or anything, but I didn't mean to offend at all.

I guess I should have proof-read what I said before, because now that I read it, some of what I said could be offensive. My quote "I think that all of us should collaberate and make the best Callaway website ever. :)" does seem like it could offend people if they didn't understand I was indirectly referring to Callawayownersgroup. (I posted after reading 89x2's response, so I connected that with the Callawayownersgroup website without referring to it -- my mistake). Yes, it is already the best Callaway information website on the Internet, I whole-heartily agree with that.

What I'm simply saying (even though I didn't say it very simply or well before) is that it would be great if Callawayownersgroup were even more incredibly detailed with information about every model and had example pictures of each. By every model, I mean the Alfas, the Land Rovers, the rare one-offs such as the Suburban, etc. (The official Callaway website is a nice resource for much of this, but I think it's always interesting to learn more than I already know).

I'm a Callaway "newbie" and have basically missed out on learning much of the information about the '90s cars since I'm about 10 years late to the party. So I've been buying magazines to learn information that isn't online. For other cars, such as Mustangs, there is a plethora of information online, but for Callaway there is very little. I thought it would be cool if we could make Callaway information readily available online and cover everything they've made. There is a great deal of information on the Callawayownersgroup, but it pertains to mostly the Corvettes. There's a great deal of information on there already, but if you search the archives of this message board, you can find some excellent info that members have posted that isn't on any website.

I'm trying to do my part sending 89x2 some info on the C8 and Supernatural Camaros. I recently scanned in and sent several Callaway C8/Camaro articles to 89x2, and I have been working on writing an article that covers every modification and such that makes up a Callaway C8.

Some of you guys know a LOT about some weird and obscure Callaway info from back in the day, and I think it'd be great if it was shared on the website. I'm not trying to pick fights or insult anyone or anything. :(

My sister's graduation was on the (I believe) 20th, which was the day of the car show. Since I don't have a Callaway, I didn't think going to the racing portion on the next day was something I'd like to do. Being relatively new to this message board at that time, I didn't want to be the odd man out.

Hey... a Callaway I can afford on my salary :L

That's the beauty about Callaway products, There's something for everyone!

:)

Sorry for the bad joke. I tought it was too cute not to share.

Oh, this purple one on this magazine is also great:

This is a weird coincidence...

The recent Speedster discussion got me to looking through some older threads, and I resurrected this one from when I just started looking for a Speedster. The car on this magazine cover is actually #007, the one I ended up getting. Critt99 sent me a copy of the article and photos shortly after I bought it. I'd forgotten that Brangetta posted it here.

I remember this topic. This is the first topic I posted in that got me attacked by an angry mob :L.

I'd still like to see some sort of Callaway registry someday with pictures of the cars :cool. Maybe not even a registry... just a catalog showcasing a picture of each of the rarest cars; the ones made in amounts less than 50: LM, Speedster, C7, C8, C12, C16, and maybe... C9? Not sure how rare a C9 is....

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site and Callaway's in general, but I have always been intrigued with them. I find the Speedsters very interesting--but probably way out of my price range if one ever came up for sale. I understand the concept of supply and demand, but any opinions on what one would cost if it became available? How did the Gunmetal Silver/Blue one from S. America do when it came up on e-bay? Thanks!

Hi Kevin, and welcome to the :CAC.
I'm certainly not an expert on the market, but I'm pretty sure you can expect to pay a solid 6 figure price for any Speedster that might hit the market (at least I hope that is the case, if not, don't tell my wife :D). The possible exception may be the blue South American car, and that only because it does not have the Speedster interior, nor is it a Series 500 car, nor does it have other special options (e.g. brakes, run-flats, etc.), and also because, according to that ebay listing, it does have some damage (minor, but expensive parts to replace). The car did not sell on is eBay run, maybe someone else recalls what it actually bid to, but I had heard the seller was looking for $200K+ for it. I believe that expectation was WAY too high, and is in fact near what one of the Super Speedsters brought at Barrett-Jackson a couple years ago.

I almost considered the Pealscent Yellow one back when I was looking at my car (Corvette Mike circa 2001) but then thought about Florida and the frequent rains and passed on it. :bash

That is why I like this one more:

I definitely would not have enjoyed it as much as I have my convertible as it would have been a garage queen. To date I have put about 17K miles on my 1991 Twin Turbo convertible since 2001.

I love that boost!...
