are you agreeing or vice versa with me. my 78 is 340 hp and a contender for a 12 second 1/4 mile. id still call her a muscle car.RJSROCKET said:Actually the C4's and 5's were quite a bit more powerful than the 70's cars with essentially the same type of layout. My brother's 68 427 I would say leans toward muscle while my 88 rag is more sport...

It is very old and needs to be put to rest. I am just really tired of seeing this
thread.

I think you are right, but only the C1 & C2,after that, its a different animal.RodsnRides said:I have to agree with Tom 73 (and, well, 22229stingray91, AKRAY14PLAY. 6 Shooter and Norms72). The Corvette is a Sports Car. It was built to compete with Jaguar, MG and Triumph influence in the early '50's. Check out 'Corvette 1953 to the present' by Robert Nichols (ISBN 0-86124 2181). Yes, it's old, but the background is superb. When Zora Arkus-Duntov came on board, he went after Porsche and Ferrari. Then Ford jumped in with the Cobra and GT-40, and Corvette was still in the game. It's a sports car. Musclecars were not concerned about turns or stops-I know-we have them. I like the Corvette, it's more fun to drive, and it's not a re-badged and hot-rodded passenger car. That's my input.
