Help Us "Name That Turn" at the*NEW Spring Mountain West Track!
We're looking for*YOUR creative ideas to help us find names for the turns that are part of the new WEST Track at Spring Mountain.* Be a part of destiny and submit a*winning name!*
Here's how it works:* Send an email with your suggestions for*names for*the turns listed below*before the contest deadline of August 15, 2005.**There is no limit to the number of entries you can submit.* Be sure to specify WHICH turn you are naming from the list below.*
The winning names will be selected by our track owners, John Morris and Brad Rambo.
Our winners will receive a beautiful Spring Mountain Polo Shirt.* If three or more of your name ideas are chosen for the new West Track, you will win a fabulous Spring Mountain jacket.
When choosing your names remember a few of these facts:**Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch is located in the Southern Nevada desert near Las Vegas, Death Valley and Area 51.* Spring Mountain is also a Corvette and Radical training and test facility.* Extensive tire testing is*performed here at Spring Mountain.
There are many animals and critters living in the area.* Some of the animals*include wild horses and burros; jack rabbits and cotton tails; tortoises, sidewinders, rattlesnakes, chuckwallas, gila monsters; coyotes, bobcats, mountain lions, hawks, and road runners.* AND, we must mention the endangered species DESERT TORTOISE, indigenous to the area...if one of these tortoises accidentally wanders onto our Spring Mountain Track, all activity on the track must cease and we call into action one of our*specially trained tortoise handlers to pick up and re-locate the animal*for its own safety!* (Many of our staff members have been trained in "tortoise relocations.")
Here is a brief description of some of the turns on the new West Track:
Right hand 1350´ radius, flat out turn
Downhill, off camber, 3rd gear turn
2nd gear, tight turn
Accelerate up hill into a sweeper that ends with a blind corner
High speed uphill sweeper that drops over a crest
High speed short straight with hard braking into a 160´ radius turn
Downhill into a 125´ radius turn
Off Camber with a heavy lateral load to the left
Transition with a lateral load to the right
Hairpin tight corner
The WINNERS will be announced in the FALL newsletter which will be released in September.* Good luck to all the participants.* We appreciate your participation!*
