squeaky throttle

Wondering if anyone has any ideas on solving a squeaky throttle that just started occurring. The last couple times I drove my 2001 convertible (with 21,000 miles) under acceleration the engine made a noise that sounded like a hamster wheel when the throttle was depressed / moved.

This noise decreased & eventually went away after the engine warmed up. The last time (in humid conditions) was worse than the first time I heard it... Should I be breaking out the good old can of WD 40 on something???

It has been kind of strange. Maybe humidity related, as I have not heard it in the last couple days.

I only heard it when it was cold, and took 10-20 minutes to decrease & then go away.

It was the worst on a very humid 70 +/- degree evening when it was close to raining.

I am wondering if you are not hearing the intake manifold whistle that has been apparent on some vehicles.
There was a TSB listed by GM to cover this.
Its not so much about throttle angle, as air passing through the throttle body and cavitating, creating the whistle.
When cold, the throttle blade attitude changes, as does the engine demands.
This is my theory on this particular concern.

The TSB you mention... Does that involve a fix, or is it just a "heads-up and just learn to live with it" notice???
