Hi All. Greetings from England.
Hope you can help with this.
After a cold start & driving 4/5 miles, the car (1994 LT1) stalls whilst coming up to or pulling away from a junction. It seems to happen mostly under gentle driving. It usually restarts after a 15/30 second wait. The fault appeared after having the plugs & wires changed. I used Taylor silicone wires & Splitfire plugs set to 0.35. Are these plugs/gap correct? or is it just coincidence. I've been thinking about the TPS or some other sensor fault. I was told it could be a Vacuum leak?;help

Cheers Steve.

Oh Forgot to post the codes : 4. H36, H42, H37.

DTC #36: Distributor Ignition System High Pulse.

36Mass Air Flow Burn Off Circuit
36Check connections at MAF, MAF relay and MAF Burn off relay. Check resistance of MAF relay and MAF burnoff relay with digital Ohm meter. replace if less than 18 Ohms. Possible ECM failure.

DTC #37: Brake Switch Stuck On.

DTC #42: Ignition Control Circuit Shorted.
42Electronic Spark Timing Circuit (EST)
42Check wiring at ignition module. Replace ignition module. Possible ECM failure.

The C4 Corvette uses several computers---more in the later models than the early years--- and each has it's own set of trouble codes. The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) , Automatic Slip Regulation (ASR), Selective Ride System (SRS) as well as the Air Conditioner Controller, the Air Bag's computer system (called the DERM module) plus the Central Control Module (CCM) on 1990 and later C4s, all have their own computers and their own set of possible trouble codes. Some can be recovered without a scan tool, some cannot. You will need a service manual for your year C4 to discover the procedure to gain access to those codes.

Hope this helps!!:thumb

They are all history codes right?

Erase them by removing the pcm fuse from the fuse block (engine off), so you keep your radio stations.

Then check if they come back.

Hi Guys, thanks for the replys, Excellent !!. I have a Chilton manual, not comprehensive but of some help. Im a bit of a rookie at this !! Have checked the connection & wiring for opti back to ECM...OK, but not the opti itself.(Not sure how to) This afternoon have tested & illiminated TPS, MAP, & IAT. My test for the MAF didnt work, so I think you're on the right track Junk !!
The codes were set a while ago, and I disconected the Battery as I needed to do the tests. My car was made for Japan, so I can only get a couple of stations on it. Will start with the MAF relays next.I'll keep you posted. Steve
