I recently encountered a problem where upon starting my C4 in normal fashion, she would start right up then die. This happened over and over again...start up then die. I ran an onboard diagnostic and got a code 54. I then checked with Tony's Corvette here in MD. he said to see if battery voltage was below 9v. It wasn't I had a reading of 11.3v. I purchased a new fuel pump relay and installed it... now I have no electrical at all.

Anyone have a solution to this? I would appreciate input from a more knowledgable person then me regarding the intricacies of the electricals.

I'd be checking all the grounds and Battery cables!!:thumb
PS 11.3 is just barley enough, a Good Battery should at least have 12.5 or better!!:thumb

Hi thanks for the quick response. I didn't suspect the battery initially because the car would fire right up, repeatidly. in fact when I opened the hood to replace the fuel pump relay the under hood lights were on strong. Once I replaced the relay...no lights, no dash lights, nothing when I turned the key. The battery isn't new so I'll pick up a new one tomorrow hopefully you are right.

Replacing the relay is simple and nothing else was touched. Again, I hope you are right.

I'd check all the connections first, the battery may not be bad just some connections!!:thumbIf it doesn't have good connections, the battery won't charge properly either!!:thumb:thumb

Thanks again.. I will check the connections.
Also, while I thinking about it the Oil Pressure sending unit can cause this exact problem!! If it not telling it has Oil Pressure after start it will shut down the Fuel Pump!!:thumb
