Hey all! Happy new driving season. My '96 LT1 has developed a minor starting problem that probably will grow into a major one unless I get after it. In the morning, I'll try to fire it up only to have it click or just begin to turn over and quit. I let off the key and hit it again, she starts right up and runs fine. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Its most likley the starter. My 1996 has started to every once in a while on the first start in the morning making a gear grinding sound. On the second try its usually fine. I think my starter is going as well. How many miles are on your car?

STARTER!!!!!
Happened to me before I got clipped. At least you were home. Get it fixed NOW!!!!! You don't wanna be out in Bum****, USA, get in your Vette for the scenic haul home only to hear 'click'---second try-NOTHING!!! Oh, cell phones don't work in Bum**** either. Read and learn, grasshopper.

She has 56K and yeah I hear you on the B.F.E situation. What is it with Chevvies anyhow? My '67 Chevy pickup starter died in the driveway just a couple of days before the 'Vette started it's little routine. Do ya think it's contageous?
