A worthwhile purchase is a battery load tester. Not all that expensive. Mine showed good battery voltage but when I added a load it went to the bottom of the green. I was beginning to get funny things going on. New yellow top fixed all.
I also have a voltage meter you plug into the cig lighter port. Useful for checking the system. A cheap digital volt meter will do the same.
I have seen many cases of starter bolts being loose or cracked. Gives same result. Clean your battery cable. Make sure you use a 12v aux battery if you disconnect your battery. Keeps the computer engaged.
It is beginning to get cold. I have seen batteries go bad with the passing of a cold front. First time the starter drags, I go rent a new battery from sears.
