For those of you who responded to my thread titled starting problems I think the problem is solved. It was the ignition control module. The part had to be ordered as the local parts stores don't keep them in stock but it should be in today and once installed we'll see if that totally solves the problem. Thanks to all who responded and for all the knowledge and experience that was shared! 
Hopefully others can benefit from this thread if they have similiar problems. I am glad that when the module died it did it in my driveway and not out on the road somewhere.
