I was thinking on puting in an 85 fuel pump can I use the existing fuel lines or do I have to change it all out to steel lines?

just replace the low pressure soft lines with EFI specific higher pressure lines is all. Any automotive stores has this type of line. It's a much harder hose and will fix your problem fine.

84 Vette

I hope its not a problem, because i did exactly that and so far no problems i am aware of

have not heard of anyone having a problem.but it would be a good idea to change rubber lines that are that old .have heard of a guy having aproblem with some of the gaskets on the tbis leaking when he went to the higher pressure pump.

The pump won't make any more pressure unless you adjust the fuel press. regulator way up or dead head the fuel pump. The 85 f. pump has a much easier time opening the regulator & sending the rest back to the tank.

have you checked your pressure to see what you have now?i would not change it unless it was low .
