steering wheel lock

sorry didn't mean to teelyou the wrong thing

The cable has everything to do with the steering wheel lock. The steering wheel lock won't work unless the backdrive cable is properly adjusted; the cable works a lever at the bottom of the steering column that's connected to a tube inside the column. When the shifter is in Park (automatic) or reverse (4-speed), the cable moves the lever upward, the tube rotates and allows the ignition cylinder to move to the Lock position and move the locking pin into a slot in the lockplate below the steering wheel. The cable adjustment procedure is in the Assembly Manual and in the Shop Manual.

Just had to disconnect the cable put it in park and push the lever all the way up. than reconnect the cable. now it works fine.

Thank you for the help.
