1968 was the only year they did not use the sting ray emblem? I am told by someone that the 1969 corvette started reusing the sting ray emblem but they wrote it as stingray. Ok but did any one know that they started reusing the emblem mid year 1968. Comments?

The Mid Years, 63-67, were called and had an emblem that had Sting Ray as two words. In '69 Chevy started putting an emblem on that has Stingray as one word.

But in ads and chevy lit the '68 was refered to as a Corvette Sting Ray (two words) but just did not have an emblem.

So you could say that 63 through 68 were all Sting Rays and the 69 trhough 76 were Stingrays.

...1968 was the only year they did not use the sting ray emblem?...

No. The Stingray fender scripts were used on the 69-76 models. There are no Stingray fender scripts on the 68s or the 77-82 models.

Correct.

There are no fender scripts on the '68s. The 68s do not say Stingray or Sting Ray anywhere on the cars.

Excellent reading here; great pix. Worth the price of a copy.
