Is there something wrong with my ears and is the radio as bad as it seems?
Can anything be done to up grade it to at least sounding like what a radio should sound like.

This afternoon l will try a CD and see if it's any better. My 96 C4 sounded better.

Alan

I have always thought the CD portion of the Bose system in my C5 sounded much better than the radio.

The AM radio reception is terrible - and the FM reception / sound just isn't that good.

Mine sounds good but the Monsoon system in the 2002 Grand Am I used to own blew the Vette Bose system away. JMHO.

My volvo wagon has a fantastic system that was upgraded to what l will never know and my wifes new Volvo S80 system is ok, but a lot better then the vette.

I forgot to take the CD with me when l left so l will try it tomorrow.

As I said before, my 93 sounded great, but I agree with you. The Bose in these c-5s sound awful. I would sure like to know what happened.

hmmm, my bose system sounds very good imo. I'm happy with it. I wonder if something is wrong with yours (?)

The Bose in my '03 C5 isn't bad......not great either. CD is much better than radio. Radio sounds good as long as your stopped and don't have the road noise interfering. :L

Hi

Being that this is my only concern l will have to live with it since l want to keep it 100% stock.

Thanks

Alan

CD might be the answer !!!!!!

Hi

I will try a CD later and if it sounds good l will put in a 12 disc CD player.

By the way where does it go and should l have this done at my dealersip?

Alan,

Today is your lucky day!

The factory unit goes in the center compartment in the rear. I'm yanking mine out as soon as it warms up a bit. If you want it, it's yours if you can just wait for me to pull it in the next few weeks. You may need to buy the harness since I'm may be keeping it intact for use with an XM receiver.

If you are at all handy, I believe it's fairly plug 'n' play aside from running the wires to the rear of the car.

When ever your ready!

Hi Eric

I don't have a time frame just let me know and l will find out all that l can about the hook-up.

Sometimes they prewire the cars for all options.

Thanks Again

Alan

Hmmmmmm......what kind of Antiques:)

It goes in the center storage bin in the back. But you will need to swap out the radio unit for the one that goes with the 12 CD changer.

I agree that the Bose radio sounds strange compared to any other that I have had. All my favorite songs sound off key until I crank the volume up to a louder level.

I keep wanting to correct the title for your thread. I like it in Boise. It would be OK to have the Bose radio suck, but Boise most certainly does not! :D

Did someone say antiques??

I have a household full of antiques. What's your pleasures??

I also collect antique hat pins, the good ones!!!!!!!

Okay, I'll bite on the hi-jack:D. We have a number of late 19th/early 20th century oak furniture pieces: 7ft tall side-by-side, two armoires, White sewing machine, Hoosier side cabinet, library table, secretary, and the like. I also have a couple hundred ACL soda bottles from 1920 - 1970s. We do have a few nick nacs but mostly it's the furniture. - Eric:w

Pete,

Curious, I swapped the tape deck that came with my car for a CD head unit and the CD changer still works fine. The buttons don't say the same thing but they do the same thing. Is this dependent upon the year the head unit was made?

I press the CD/AUX button once to play the CD in the head unit and again to switch to the CD changer (until I yank it:)).

What l Have !!

Hi

Last night l was reading my manual and it showed the same am/fm/cd player for both the single and 12 cd changer. And my radio has all of the same features for changing CD's.

My vette is the model year 2002.

One more thing regarding antiques, my prize is an "Empire High Boy" in minto condition. The rest of my antiques were left to me from my mother. My brother and l split everything. We still have boxes that we never opened.
My hat pin collection is probably approx 75 pins but l never counted.

So whenever you get to it just let me know so that we can make arrangements.

Alan
