The Bose speakers are amplified and are of lower ohm rating than aftermarket speakers. I was always under the impression that one could not just change the speakers with aftermarket ones. Same goes for the head unit with stock speakers. Bose created a proprietary system that requires speakers, amps and head unit to be compatible. I've also seen lots of 2din conversions that required relocating AC controls and cutting of the dash. They look great but it's not something I would feel comfortable doing. I wish someone would sell dash conversion that would accept 2din radios.
