I would like to connect an MP3 player to my stock radio using a wired FM modulator. The modulator is designed to accept line level signals only. My MP3 player only has a headphone jack.

Can I just make a direct connection or do I need to install an attenuator to reduce the signal level?

Thanks,
Mike

I have an MP3 player that I use with an FM transmitter that is set to an FM channel on the radio. The sounds are vintage 1963, but at my age my hearing can not differentiate in sound quality.

I just like driving to the sounds of the 60’s!

You can use it with the headphone jack. Turn your radio to a regular station. Set the volume level to a comfortable range. Then, tune to the FM modulator's frequency, start with the MP3 player volume low and work up to a level that is the same as the afore mentioned radio volume.
