"Adding insult to injury, the 1968 Corvette was a particularly valued car. Its so-called "Mako Shark" design was seen as ushering in the third generation of the Corvette. There were 18,360 of the convertibles made that year."

Calm down, now. Come on now, who paid the reporter to say that?

God, you'da thunk this was a C2.:rotfl

I saw the car on the news last night. The car was originally painted blue, but whoever stole it apparently had good taste and repainted it Silver:) !

It looked VERY nice, and the owner said he was going to have it "restored" and give it to his daughter who's in high school. This car was a big block, and was in mint condition.

The car was on a container headed for Sweden, and apparently it had never been registered/insured since the time it was stolen. -John

I pulled this from cnn.com

Good for the hobby.

I heard that the original owner was on CNN this morning.

Better hurry and grab that '69 while you can. They might be untouchable by the time Barrett-Jackson gets done this weekend!:)

It's a shame, really. -John
