strange occurance

I am a new Vette owner (6 months) I have a 94 LTI, automatic trans.The other day I was setting at a stop light with A/C on and all of a sudden the car felt like the brakes momentarily failed. It was so quick, (a split second) the car didn't move but I can liken it to holding the brake and applying gas. You know the car doesn't move but sort of lifts up prior to brake being released.

A moment later it happened again.

Any ideas as to what it might be?

Do you have the 'adjustable' suspension? I don't so have no experience. But it might be acting up (really long shot).

I have no idea about adjustable suspension. My guess would be no.

it might be when the AC compressor kicks in the computer brings up the engine revs to compensate for it

That sounds reasonable, it could happen in the automatics, especially if he had very light foot pressure on the brake pedal at the time. With very light pressure applied to hold the vehicle at a low idle, then it suddenly kicks up 50 - 100 rpm when the A/C compressor is engaged, it could have been just enough to make the car jump slightly.

bossvette is correct it may have a slightly low a/c charge making it cycle more than it should steve

while I couldn't swear the A/C was at that moment kicking on, I can tell you I had my foot firmly on the brake and the vehicle did not idle up. It was more like the hydralic system just went away for a microsecond. I may have confused the issue when I compared it to holding the brake and pressing the accelerator.

what I was trying to say is during that moment when the brakes seemed to disappear I sensed the car weight slightly shifting as though to accelerate.

as for putting message in two forums, I felt this issue could be a safety issue and I wanted to get as many opinions as possible before I head out to Vette Show in Myrtle Beach tommorrow.

Sam, the trouble with posting the same question (or solution) in mutiple forums is that people won't always see the big picture, if the responses vary from thread-to-thread. If all responses are included in one thread, the dilema sometimes will come into better focus. I hope I didn't offend you by merging these.
