Street Damper????

So I have a stock '84 vette......with 78k miles....and I was thinking of installing a street damper......to absorb harmonic's....and maybe it will let my small block last longer......
What do you guys think.....Fluiddamper...street....

My builder told me to steer clear of 'em. Therefore, I'm using a Pro Race steel damper on my 417-inch small block.
