Alright guys. All this talk about strokin a 350 to a 383 is gettin me all hot and heavy.

I want to do it. So Where do i go? I Plan to do all the work myself. Will i have to modify anything on the block?

I have heard that i have to clearence the rods and thins to keep it from thumping around on the bottom end, is this true?

Also, How much hp can i plan on putting out with a good set of heads and the right intake and cam for the stroker kit?

Tom "this is Great" Scott

Ok, so you have to get the block bored .030 over to do this.

How much will that cost if done right?

Tom

only if you want a 383 keep it standard bore if its ok and have a 377ci

I think it costs somewhere's around $500-700 to get punch it .030 over. Then you have the larger pistons and then the bigger and heavier duty crank.

Where is the best place to buy one of these stroker kits?

The block you can buy already prepped from either aeromotive or Golen engines. Thats just two of many.

Aeromotive sells the blocks for $400-500 already .03 over and I believe they are aligned honed and squared decked. Could be wrong about that though. The block is thoroughly inspected.

Once you get the block then you can start looking into rods and pistons. If you buy them before, after the block is machined, your deck height could be off and you could have a piston protruding from the deck at TDC.

If all is well you could just go with a "383 stroker kit". All the guess work is done.

Then go with the small base circle cam................... well the top end is another story!
