Stuck at 20 MPH

1970 Corvette 350/300 has a speedometer issue.

Stopped working then went on and off for a bit now stays around 20 MPH when moving.

Going to trouble shoot. Should I start with replacing the cable?

You should check the cable first. Whether it needs to be replaced will depend on what you find.

I had a very similar problem and changed cable and gear since I was in there. Fixed problem
