Now, I know this might sound dumb but I keep seeing the term “build sheet” on the forum. Can anyone tell me what it means? I really do not know.:confused

Just been lurking mostly lately, not posting, but I see this often and now I’m curious.

Thanks.

Its a sheet of paper printed for the factory, specifically the assembly line that details what parts and sub-assemblies are used on each specific car. It will detail options, dates and other specific information. On C5s its actually tucked inside the front fram rail

Copies of build sheets are availabe from the NCM for many years of Corvettes - as are duplicate window stickers.

Thanks Warren,

Now that leads to two more questions.

Where is the front fram(?) rail? How do I get to it?

Also, what does NCM stand for?

Thanks again Warren. Don’t think I wanna remove the nose.

On my second Vette and STILL haven’t made the pilgrimage to the museum. ;shrug

You need to make the pilgrimage, if you get the chance. The factory is right across the street. The two make for a great trip.
At least checkout the musuem at www.corvettemusuem.com
I ordered buildsheet and replica window sticker for my 01. Really neat to see and a nice touch to my garage wall. Join the musuem while your at it. They do an incredible job promoting what we love.:w

I drove by there going back to Chicago from Ft. Benning at about 1am. Does that count? :L

The build sheet is fun to have...then you can go to the C5 info and see how many spiral gray vettes were made and how many cars with each option you have.

In lieu of the official (PAPER) build sheet, which tells you of your options etc. that went into your car, you can find a "build sheet" on your glove box door. Do not remove it. I took a digital picture of it while I decoded all the options, instead of writing them down. use the Macro setting on your camera to get up close.

The other nice thing about having the build sheet is that you know exactly what is in your car that might not be apparent such as differential ratio etc. I bought my car from the origanal owner and it wasen't until I got the build sheet from the NCM that I found out that the car came from the factory with a CD changer that was removed before I bought the car.
