I am pretty sure I know the answer to this one but I figure I figure I should make sure.

I just pulled off the front wheel hub assembly and I cannot get the brake rotor off. now, I figure its just really rusted on there. Just in case though I want to know if the rotor is in some way attached to the hub assembly?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Tom

The rotors are riveted to the hubs to ensure that they were machined from the factory with specs (no runout, or wobbling of the rotors). If your rotors have never been off, then the four rivets are probably still there and will need to be drilled out. If the rivets are gone and it's just rusted, then you have the same problem I had last month with one of mine. PB Blaster, some tapping with a 3 lb hammer, and a lot of time and patience did the trick to get the rust broken up.

Ok, so there are still rivets, so all that needs to be drilled out is the head of the rivet or the whole thing?

and from then on what hold the new rotors on the hub?

Tom

You dont have to rerivit the hub to the rotor, the wheel will hold it on.Of course if you want to ,like I did,You can bolt the rotor to the hub, then install as a unit again.
